With the stadium issue looming over our heads like a dark bulbous cloud waiting to burst, many are wondering what role, if any, Aztec Football plays in the big picture. 

I had a chance to sit down with San Diego State's Athletic Director, Jeff Schemmel, earlier this week and walked away with a lot of information and insight as to where SDSU stands on the San Diego stadium issue.

Dispelling the Myth That the Spanos Family Doesn't Give Back to the Community

As stated in another post that there is a lot of "anti-Spanos" sentiment in the San Diego community.  That statement is clearly evident simply by reading the letters to the editor in the Sunday edition of the San Diego Union-Tribune sports section.  A large portion of the San Diego population couldn't care less about the Spanos family, the Chargers, or their quest for a new stadium; until they think about that stadium for a moment and then wonder "what's this going to cost me".

You only need to visit an online forum where the Chargers stadium search is mentioned and you'll quickly see that there is a large anti-Spanos sentiment in play throughout all corners of San Diego County. But, spend a few minutes reading their comments and you'll also quickly learn that many of these people are misinformed.
